Teacher of Orientation and Mobility
Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind

Duties: This position reports to the Principal, School for the Blind, and is responsible for providing orientation and mobility instruction to students from pre-school through transition age who are visually impaired, and who may have other disabilities.
Qualifications: Must have earned a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university; Must hold certification as a specialist in Orientation and Mobility from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education of Professionals (ACVREP); Must hold or be eligible for appropriate Educator/Special Services licensure in the State of Colorado, endorsed as a School Orientation and Mobility Specialist; Must hold, be eligible for, or able to obtain within two (2) years from hire, appropriate educator licensure in the State of Colorado, endorsed as a Special Education Specialist: Visually Impaired, or comparable; Proficiency or commitment to work toward proficiency, in American Sign Language (ASL) at the Novice skill level as demonstrated through an appropriate assessment tool and according to school policy.
