Vision Rehabilitation Therapist

Duties:
- Assess clients' knowledge and skills in all areas of VRT including personal and home management, communication skills, and medication management, and develop individualized plans of instruction to meet clients' needs.
- Carry out programs of instruction including food preparation, money management, diabetes management, house cleaning, clothing care and identification, personal grooming, eating skills, and communications.
- Conduct small group classes.
- Work as part of a team that includes case workers and other rehabilitation professionals to achieve the highest level of independence for each individual.
Qualifications: Current or pending ACVREP certification in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy. We are willing to work with you in getting your certification. Multiple certification in O&M or Low Vision Therapy will be given consideration.
Additional Information: The Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Allentown, Pennsylvania is growing, and we are looking for ACVREP certified professionals to join our team. Six months ago, we moved into a new, larger building that is allowing us to expand our services. We are adding a full low vision clinic, a technology center, and an aids and devices store. It is an exciting time!
We currently have an opening for an ACVREP certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist. Other ACVREP certified professionals are encouraged to inquire as we continue to expand our services, and preference would be given to dual certification.
