Teacher of Vision Impaired

Duties: The person must have demonstrated competencies in the following areas: Reading and Writing Braille; Knowledge of Assistive Technologies for visually impaired students; Understanding of orientation and mobility; Writing appropriate IEP plans for students who are visually impaired; Knowledge of outside agencies to assist students and families with visual impairments; Ability to adapt and modify curriculum for students with visual impairments; Knowledge of curricular resources for students with visual impairments; Ability to recognize and teach appropriate social skills for students with visual impairments; Ability to collaborate with education staff; Skills in working with families; Skills in behavior management; Assessment and diagnostic skill in meeting the needs of students with visual impairments.
Qualifications: Idaho Teacher Certification. Bachelor degree required and an endorsement in teaching visually impaired. Teaching or student teaching at appropriate grade level.
