Duties: Teacher who provides comprehensive educational program to students with dual sensory impairment in a residential school setting.

Qualifications: Possess or be eligible to obtain Georgia Professional Standards Commission Certification in the area of Special Education Visual Impairment, Special Education Deaf Education, Special Education General Curriculum and Adapted Curriculum. Must have basic braille and American Sign Language skills. Must have knowledge of assistive technology and basic understanding of the use of computer technology for dual sensory impaired learners. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Visual Impairments (K-12) and Deaf Education (K-12) or Master's Degree in Deaf-blindness (K-12). Three or more years of teaching experience in working with students who are visually impaired, blind, deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf-blind. Elementary academic certification, and experience in providing professional development and coaching to teacher and related service providers and parents. Sign language proficiency at the "Advanced Level" as measured by the Sign Communication Proficiency Instrument.

Additional Information: Salary and Benefits based on years of experience and certification. 210 day position paid over 12 months. Salary based on the number of days worked. Benefit options include life, disability, dental, vision, and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees' Retirement or Teacher's Retirement
