Duties: Under supervision of a certified teacher in the area of deaf-blind, provides direct instruction to students. Assists teacher in maintaining an effective learning environment. Assists individual students with needs. Obtains and prepares instructional materials in appropriate formats for students. Completes documentation of student progress.
Qualifications: Paraprofessional Certification from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a paraprofessional working with visual impaired, blind, hard of hearing, deaf, deaf-blind, or multiple-disabled students. Knowledge and basic skills in manual sign language and braille. Knowledge of assistive technology and devices.
Additional Information: Pay grade 8- $14,959.16 (min) to $25,388.59 (Max). This is a 10 month position paid on a 12 month basis. Salary is based on the number of days worked. Benefit options include, life, disability, dental, and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees' Retirement.
