Head Teacher

Duties: He/She would be responsible for the daily running general management and future planning for the school. In addition to the above, duties would also include teaching students and training teachers

Qualifications:
- A working/teaching experience of AT LEAST 5 years or more in dealing with LD, ADHD children
- Age/sex no barriers or limits. Looking for a person with “Heart”
- Any qualifications pertaining to LD, ADHD would be a definite asset
- Having a valid driving license (car)
- Should be fluent in English and knowledge of any other languages would be an asset. Knowledge of Japanese would definitely be an asset. If you do not speak Japanese then you should be willing to learn it on your own time and at your own expense
- Foreigners or Japanese (in Japan or from any country abroad) are welcome to apply as long as you have the experience and qualifications to match.
- Character wise: Someone who definitely has the patience of “Job”; is kind, understanding, intuitive, inventive, creative, flexible, has management potential and is a good planner
- Knowledge of computers and software use is a must

Additional Information: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS JOB IS BASED IN FUKUOKA JAPAN.
About a year ago, a new concept private school for children with learning disabilities (LD), ADHD, and other problems started up in Fukuoka, Japan. The school accepts kids from kindergarten age to high school age at the moment and has a broad based western style curriculum with English as its main language. The school aims to keep the teacher student ratio at 1:3 or less as far as possible with a maximum ratio of 1:5 thereby enabling the student to get more personalized education and training. The aims of the school are many but its priorities are as follows….
- Raising a child’s confidence so that they can fit into modern day society with the least amount of problems
- Teaching proper behaviour and interaction when with people
- Raising their attention and endurance span
- Getting them to a level in English, Mathematics and other subjects in order that they can go abroad for further studies if they so desire
We are looking for a HEAD TEACHER (male or female) who has the following experience and qualifications…those who do not have actual working experience or/and qualifications to deal with LD or ADHD kids PLEASE do not waste your time by applying. The position will be available starting around the beginning of April 2010. A good salary and incentives will be offered from the start for the right candidate with the potential for growth in the very near future. The first 6-12 months there would be a probation period to access the performance, abilities and input of the Head Teacher.
