Pediatric Physical Therapist

Duties: The job includes, but is not limited - Team arena assessments; Collaborative Transdisciplinary Functional Abilities Evaluations with Learning Plans; Participation in team strategies for the Learning *Plan implementation (co-treat); Completion of all providership paperwork in a timely manner; Completion of paperwork for Medicaid authorizations in a timely manner; Attendance at staffings/team meetings; Maintaining current professional Licensure; Wheelchair seating evaluations, manual and power (including Medicaid paperwork); Orthotic fit and function; Gross motor evaluation and functional treatment plan; Positioning for function and participation in learning activities; Whole body movement activities for those with severe movement disorders; Collaboration with area medical professionals; Brainstorming innovative interventions; Participation in Parent Forum activities; Be a positive public relations agent for the mission of TEAMability; Help launch an innovative weekend recreational program for children with severe, multiple disabilities and their families; Collaborate with client’s school team on a prn basis; Facilitate client’s and their families accessing additional social services; Supervise volunteers and interns on a prn basis

Qualifications: Physical Therapist licensed to practice in Texas

Additional Information: At the TEAMability Learning Center, the Physical Therapist is an integral part of a transdisciplinary approach to evaluation and intervention for children with severe and multiple disabilities. Participation in the team approach translates into a seamless ongoing process of holistic evaluation and intervention to further the functional ability of those most disabled and to improve their quality of life. The therapist must have expertise in the areas of wheelchair seating, bracing, spasticity management , and positioning for function; but must also be able to accept and meaningfully participate in an approach that blurs the lines between disciplines.
