Job Exchange > Submit a Special Education Job
Important Note: Job Submissions will not be processed between 5/10/08 - 5/20/08 due to vacation. Submissions can still be made during that time, and they will be processed in the order they are received. We apologize for the inconvenience.
As spedex.com is a personally-funded website (we receive less than $500 annually from outside sources) we have a few guidelines for the posting of job announcements in the Job Exchange. These rules are in place to:
- Provide a consistent look and feel to all pages, thereby keeping all information accessible
- Enable the information presented (job announcements) to be done so in as concise and as accurate a means possible
- Reduce the amount of human intervention to the minimum necessary to maintain spedex.com
We have not put these rules in place to restrict the posting of job announcements, but rather to enable the spedex.com Job Exchange to remain the valuable resource you have come to expect.
The guidelines:
- Please use abbreviations for commonly-used professional terms where applicable (for example, if the job is for a vision-related position advertising an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, then O&M Specialist would be the commonly-used term)
- Please use common sense in regards to the size of your job announcement - the more information given, the more likely a qualified applicant will be found, but too much information may cause potential appplicants to skip your announcement. A good rule of thumb would be to submit what would fit on 1/2 to 3/4 of a type-written page. Your announcement may be read by persons not currently within the field of Special Education, so avoid providing information such as "typical duties for this position" - the duties may appeal to someone not currently in the field, convincing them to seek the educational qualifications needed
- Announcements MUST list duties and qualifications - linking to other sites is NOT ACCEPTABLE (i.e. "please visit our site for duties"). If you wish to add a link to your site, you may do so under Additional Information
- Jobs must be submitted at least 4 weeks before the Closing Date (if any)
- Limit your information to the categories provided! If something is not a job duty, then do not put it in Duties. If you are not sure where to put information, Additional Information usually works
- spedex.com reserve the right to edit any announcement we judge as too long
- Announcements are limited to jobs within the field of Special Education - professionals and paraprofessionals ONLY. If a position does not require skills unique to special education, whether the position is with a Special Education entity or not, it will not be posted - NO EXCEPTIONS
- Our free postings are for publicly-supported school districts, state/federal agencies, non-profit agencies, and individuals ONLY. If you are a private company that collects a fee for your services, or contracts or sub-contracts jobs to others, then you MUST use our fee-based posting service
- spedex.com reserve the right to reject any job announcement which does not meet the above guidelines - NO NOTIFICATION WILL BE GIVEN
If anyone should have problems with the form, they can (as always) e-mail the information below to: spedex [dot] com [at] gmail [dot] com
Notes: The Closing Date will be assumed to be "until filled" unless a date is provided - there is no need to fill this field unless a date is needed; required fields, indicated by an "*" must be filled-in to successfully submit (the form will allow for a preview of what will be submitted, and will "remember" all fields to allow for any changes you may need to make); and, you are allowed to submit only three (3) submissions per 24 hour period.
